I feel that the appreciation of art
by the younger generation should be supported and encouraged. One afternoon my
dear friend Victoria Longo arrived at my gallery with her grandson, Tim Longo.
Tim’s interest in art at the age of 13 is remarkable. I brought Tim up to my
studio and at the time I was working on this painting of Quissett Harbor, one of
the most beautiful harbors on Cape Cod. I asked Tim if he would like to paint
part of the sky. Fearlessly, he picked up a brush and started to paint. As a way
of thanking him for his enthusiasm, I have named this painting, “Tim’s Harbor”.
