Harbor Yacht Club celebrated 50 years of sailing excellence this year and
I was thrilled to receive the commission for this historic painting. The sail boat with the "Bark" sail is one of the oldest of its
kind on Cape Cod. The two girls at the helm are the daughters of
the new Commodore, Mary Bowker. It started out disappointingly
overcast and as luck would have it the sky cleared, the wind came up and
we all cheered as the girls tightened the sail and started their run into
Wild Harbor on Cape Cod.
